Item #: EA-070

Object Class: Hazardous

Name: The Street Lamp

Containment: EA-070 is to be contained within a 2m x 2m x 10m vertical containment chamber located at Outpost Eta. The anomaly is physically embedded into the foundation of its chamber and cannot be removed without significant structural disturbance. During its inactive hours (4:01 AM to 9:59 PM), two Arcane Securing Unit operatives are to remain stationed directly outside the containment entrance for observational and defensive purposes.

At precisely 10:00 PM, designated as the beginning of the anomaly's "lock down" phase, the containment chamber will enter automatic lockdown. During this phase, the chamber is sealed, all lighting in the surrounding corridor is disabled, and access is elevated from Level 4 to Level 6 clearance. Four General Securing Unit operatives and one Rapid Foundation Unit operative are to be posted outside the sector until 4:00 AM, at which time containment reverts to inactive status.

Profile: EA-070 is a standard-design metal street lamp standing 8 meters tall and modeled after mid-20th-century urban lighting fixtures. It displays no visible marks, serial numbers, or manufacturer identifiers and has been confirmed to be composed of conventional steel and glass. EA-070 is built directly into the containment cell's flooring and appears permanently affixed. Under normal conditions, the object is inert and unremarkable in appearance or behavior.

At exactly 10:00 PM local time, EA-070 activates autonomously and emits a soft white light identical to that of a functional sodium-vapor lamp. This phase, referred to internally as "lock down," persists until 4:00 AM. Any sentient being that physically enters the containment cell or the light radius during this period vanishes instantaneously. Subjects who reappear report having been transposed into a different time period—ranging from prehistoric landscapes to far-future urban ruins—but always remaining in the same physical location relative to the lamp.

Further anomalies arise from long-term testing. In every time period accessed, the same lamp post is present, regardless of historical or physical continuity. This has led researchers to hypothesise that the lamp exists simultaneously across branching or parallel timelines, maintaining a fixed anchor in both spatial and temporal dimensions. Attempts to damage or move the lamp in alternate periods have failed or caused reversion of the subject to the present with varying degrees of physical trauma or psychological distress.
